and brian mcallister. we are interested in material exploration and industrial
processes applied to furniture, lighting, and design objects. all of our pieces
are assembled in our studio in seattle, washington, usa.
our process is one part exploration, one part learning curve, one part
affection, one part sheer strife, and one part caffeine. we also really like
to travel and sleep.
we usually cringe when people ask us if we use 'recycled materials' (which
we have and continue to do) but you can read all about our thoughts on
sustainability in our manifestos.
we are passionate about building a strong design community in seattle and
carrying that dialogue nationally and internationally. for that end we founded
JOIN Design Seattle. our mission is to promote emerging independent
american design by providing designers a forum to show work, get
feedback, and share resources. by organizing design shows and events,
we strive to be the adhesive and a resource that binds a thriving, but
fragmented, furniture and product design design community in seattle.
